As a kid

I dreamed of driving my grandfather’s tractor. My little brain was filled with make-believe.

Raised in Toronto, I found my groove mounting homespun theatre productions and puppet shows in the backyard of our suburban home.

Naturally, the next step was to… study nursing.

(I mean, who in their right mind chooses the arts as a career?!) After graduating I moved to Dallas with my husband where I worked as a Registered Nurse in a downtown hospital.

Six years and two children later, we returned to Canada where I continued to work as a nurse, which transitioned into a career in the pharmaceutical business. But the performing arts kept nudging me.

For years, I exercised my creative passion with acting roles on stage while tethered to my day job. Life is short. In 2006, the death of a very close friend was the kick in the butt I needed to take the leap from the business world into acting full time.

Acting was a natural creative progression,

into writing, producing and ultimately, my happy place, directing.

As a director,

my active imagination and backyard childhood theatrics are allowed to come full circle.
